Welcome! You’re probably wondering who I am. Let me tell you a little about myself. My name is Hector Gotay. Born in Bronx, NY raised in sunny (sometimes) South Florida. I am 31 years old and both love and hate that everything they have said about your thirties is true so far. I’m a very family oriented person with a large family that includes a lot of friends who have become so. I grew up playing Golf since the age of 8 and actually work at my local private Golf course one day a week because of my love for the sport. My interests don’t stop there, I love sneakers and fashion, reality TV (guilty pleasure, please don’t judge), I have recently picked up Tennis and love going to the gym. Health and fitness will always be a part of my life, even if the scale disagrees with that statement at times. Above all I love being social and getting to meet new people. Getting to know someone new always intrigues me because it is a reminder that we all have a story to tell. It teaches you a lot about how people react and respond to the actions of others or events in their lives. I attribute this to my reasoning for wanting to study User Experience (UI/UX).
I have a strong desire to constantly grow. I graduated from Florida International University in May of 2018 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Information Technology and I have returned to school twice now for certification purposes. I joined a certification course with Springboard that specializes in UI/UX design and was presented with opportunities to work on some cool projects (linked on this site). I also completed a course in Digital Marketing Science with FIU, where I learned the ins and outs of many marketing topics such as but not limited to, email marketing, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Google ads & analytics, AI for marketing and so much more. I also completed certifications in Google Ads, Google Analytics & HubSpot.
Above all, I’m just another guy in this world taking it one day at a time.

Ok so, I can just give you my CV (which is linked below) but I wanted to briefly explain my professional career path so far…
Upon graduating high school, I jumped right into my first job which was a corporate role at Cigna insurance working in credentialing. To this day I am thankful for the tools that gave me. While most of my peers worked at the mall or some other retail position, I was thrown directly into corporate America where I had to learn fast. I had to analyze contracts and applications for doctors and deal with very sensitive information. Moving forward, once I graduated FIU in 2018 I have worked as a Service Desk Analyst at HCA where I assisted with high intensity phone calls from hospitals regarding tech issues, and as an Advertising Operations Specialist at Zimmerman which provided me with a other of advertising, marketing and SEO experience. I am now at CHG Healthcare where I work in credentialing but get the opportunity to create experiences for my peers through the extracurricular program “The Culture Promoters”. I’m going to stop now and let my CV do the rest of the talking…

I have been fortunate enough to have a “side hustle” that allows me to also use my digital marketing experience. I have an eBay store where I buy and sell streetwear and designer items. I use my SEO knowledge to get more views on my listings, which in turn brings more sales. Check it out below:
